Patricia Priest
Director, QMI and General Manager, LMI

Patricia is General Manager QBE LMI and a Director of QBE Mortgage Insurance (Asia) Limited based in Hong Kong.

Prior to her appointment as General Manager, Patricia was the Deputy CFO in QBE’s Australia Pacific Division. Patricia has an extensive career in financial services holding executive positions in Munich Re and Zurich.

Patricia is a Chartered Accountant, holds the Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Chris Butel
Director, QMI and General Manager CTP Australia Pacific

Chris is General Manager CTP, Australia Pacific and a Director of QBE Mortgage Insurance (Asia) Limited.

Chris is an actuary and started his career in QBE in 2005 working across many products including workers compensation, small business, farm, construction, travel and trade credit. He spent 4 years responsible for QBE's Australian insurance risk stress testing and capital modelling which is where he worked closely with the Australian LMI business developing the first capital model for LMI and working closely with the LMI business on understanding the impacts of various economic scenarios on the business.

Since 2017 Chris has worked in underwriting and distribution roles in motor bodily injury insurance known as Compulsory Third Party (CTP) in Australia.

Wendy Tsang
Managing Director of QMI

Wendy has close to 20 years' experience in corporate and commercial lending with financial institutions in Hong Kong and the United States before working in the insurance industry. She was appointed Managing Director of QMI in 2017 and has held the position of Head of Risk Management since 2011 responsible for credit risk management and all operational aspects of the mortgage insurance business.

Prior to joining QMI, Wendy was Manager of corporate lending at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in Hong Kong. She has managed business relationship with multinational corporations and participated in IPO transactions and major debt restructuring of syndicated loans. She also developed and handled commercial SME business and real estate loans at Manufacturers Bank in Los Angeles. Wendy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Business Economics.
